AMERICAN HERITAGE GIRLS TROOP #1427
Northern Lakes Bible is blessed to be able to charter a small American Heritage Girls troop. Below is a description from the American Heritage Girls website as to the history, heart and mission of this unique organization.
American Heritage Girls (AHG) is a Christ-centered character and leadership development program for girls 5 to 18 years of age. AHG is dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country.
American Heritage Girls was founded by a group of parents wanting a faith-based, scout-type character development program for their daughters in 1995. AHG girls across the nation and the globe participate in badge programs, service projects, leadership opportunities, and outdoor experiences, all with an emphasis on Christian values and family involvement.
AHG has a clearly defined mission and vision for their organization.
MISSION
Building women of integrity through service to God, family, community and country.
VISION
AHG is the premier national character development organization for young women that embraces Christian values and encourages family involvement.
The oath and creed that each American Heritage Girl makes is as follows:
As an American Heritage Girl, I promise to love God, cherish my family, honor my country, and serve in my community. As an American Heritage Girl, I promise to be compassionate, helpful, honest, loyal, perseverant, pure, resourceful, respectful, responsible, and reverent.
A typical troop night works to foster spiritual growth and the above characteristics in each and every girl, teach practical life skills, and create opportunities to grow in closer friendships with others. Northern Lakes Bible comes alongside this group of girls and sees the opportunity of discipling the next generation of Godly women as an invaluable opportunity.
